S. Jacques Stratton
A native of Southern California, S. Jacques Stratton grew up on the borderline of beach culture and asphalt apocalypse. This landscape, where million-dollar sunsets backlight homeless waifs, tuned his literary sense to the complexities that underlie surface detail. Thematically, his writing explores the psychology of dislocation: moments when the familiar turns strange and the world no longer conforms to normal frames of reference. Published works include ISLANDS ON THE FRINGE: A YEAR OF MICRONESIAN WAVES AND WANDERERS (Phantasea Books, 2018), which recollects his adventures teaching English on a remote Pacific island, and THE POPSICLE MOON (Waxwing Editions, 2001), a whimsically imaginative children's story.
